Nonvenomous Status Very uncommon in Katy and Cypress Texas Description/Identification This is a medium bodied snake usually found near water.  Has round pupils and can be varying shades of brown, olive, or yellowish.  Defense The first defense for this snake is to flee.  This snake is very unlikely to bite even when restrained and will instead spray feces on the hand of a human that is grabbing it in an effort to escape.
